Sky don't let you turn eco mode off as it was implemented to meet EU law. Sky say:
"If you're viewing the same channel for 4 hours, an on-screen message will pop up to let you know your TV is about to go into Eco mode. To carry on watching, press any button on your Sky remote. Eco mode can't be turned off"
However it does pop up for sooner than 4 hours. But half hour seems a bit extreme. Have you tried power off for few minutes and see if this timer is reset?
