Passthrough sound skipping

Hey everyone.

I have a random issue with my Sky Stream and I can't for the life of me workout what is causing it, or rather why there is an issue.

I have the Sky Stream hooked up to my TV via HDMI and my TV outputs sound to my external audio system, also via HDMI. The TV is set to Passthrough for HDMI signals and therefore the audio system will always play the correct sound format. This is all fine.

However, the Sky Stream is also set to Passthrough for sound and this means like I mentioned that the sound format is picked up by the audio system correctly. UHD stuff plays in Atmos, other stuff plays in Dolby Audio etc. With this setting though, all adverts between programmes has skipping audio - everything 1-2 seconds the audio skips.

I'm not too bothered, as it's only the adverts. Programmes run fine. But it's frustrating me to know why it does this. If I change the Sky Stream settings to Auto it doesn't do it (however, it just plays everything in LPCM if it's SD or HD and Atmos for UHD) I'm so confused. 🤔

Any help with this will be hugely appreciated.

Scott.

Re: Passthrough sound skipping

Glad I found this as I have the exact same issue, it's not all adverts either and only happens when passthrough is enabled, I've read somewhere it's only adverts that are returned by sky's adsmart service as it uses different codecs but would be good to get a confirmation
