New sky stream customer

I've just received my new sky stream bix, do I not need a router any more. Currently with talk talk  not used to thus level of tech?

You absolutely need a router. Without a broadband connection (which a router receives and broadcasts to devices in your home) Sky Stream will not function at all.

Stream is just subscription television which needs an internet connection to get its data: it's not itself a broadband service.  Sky confuses things by selling Sky Broadband alongside (and in addition to) the Stream product.
