New Sky Stream puck Stand By mode

Hi.............I recently had a new Sky Q putt installed for me disabled sister, she is paralysed. The problem I have is the Sky Q box every few hours goes into Stand Bye mode despite me setting it up as "off" in the timer settings. Is there another way of having the putt constantly on, as my sister has no movement to re set the putt when in stand by, thank you.

Hi @Bacardibill

There is no Off in the standby settings settings.

If you do not want it to go into Standby the the Setting is None.

If you have set it to None and it still going off then you need to check the Television Standby settings as the Television going off will also switch of the Q box is smart standby is turned on in the Q box.

@Bacardibill

What's a putt (apart from the golfing term)?

See this link

Changing the standby settings

To change your standby settings:

  1. Press Home on your Sky Q remote and select Settings, then Setup.
  2. Select Preferences, followed by Standby mode and select the setting you want.

@Bacardibill

Have you also looked into the TV auto power down.

We often find that SKY users who only interact with the SKY boxes rather than TV itself (as there is no need to change channel on the TV etc) see their TVs shutdown in a much shorter time than the SKY boxes

The stream box will go into standby unless you move the remote every so often. You normally get a message on screen to warn you it's going into standby unless you move the remote.

it's part of standard power saving settings as part of recent legislation

there is no way to turn it off
