People seem desperate to sign up for the trial probably because to current OS is dire.

That makes sense, but it’s still frustrating to get constant notifications about "how to sign up" when the process has been explained repeatedly, including an official confirmation that user requests aren't being accepted. If someone won't take the time to read available instructions, they probably shouldn't be participating in a beta program anyway.

Re: New Sky OS

Is there any timescale on when the new OS will be rolled out to all? I know it's in beta testing at the minute btw.

Hi @Floydianslip

This is just my opinion, take it with a pinch of salt lol. Sky will probably have a couple of months beta testing. That takes you into November 2026.

I doubt they wont start rolling it out then, and into December 2026. Sky won't want customers having issues around/over the Christmas period.

Sky could maybe start the rollout in early January 2027. Of course, I could be completely off the mark. Only Sky know the real answer to this.

Re: New Sky OS

Weirdly enough despite saying I secured a place in the trial it vanished from my tv. I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that or what

I think the app had a 4 day expiry date on it.

Re: New Sky OS

Based on media reports I've seen it's due late 2026, the new OS I suspect is being worked on in parallel to Sky Go as the two will now be intrinsically linked. If you want a feel for what the new OS will look like then check out Sky Go for user ease of use and familiarity they will mirror each other.

New OS would have already been under testing before opening it to customers for testing further, it's probably not far off for launch.

I imagine the new OS will predominantly be menu and layout changes maybe some performance tweaks and a little something new for the media buzz.

With Go now live albeit in its infancy OS won't be too far away as Sky will require mass user use between OS and Go to solidify certain testing elements.

But there again this is Sky...... 😙

On another note I've had this which is old sitting on my puck just below continue watching for days now. Why put out old images, it hasn't even got the Playlist on it; nothing like this stays for a few hours let alone days as Sky update the Home Screen constantly it makes no sense unless it is a holding panel for something new. I'm not a conspiracy theorist and what the hell do I know but.......

Re: New Sky OS

Has the trial started yet? I opted when it went up a few weeks ago - but still no change to my sky stream puck?

Ah amazing! I did get an email asking for me to do a survey before the trial starts - just making sure I haven't missed anything!
