New Sky OS 2.0

A guide to what it's supposed to doesn't fix it not working,  it updated to 2.0 while I was away on holiday and I've spent the last 3 hours since coming home trying to play the F1 race today which 2.0 refused to point blank, after 6 factory resets and trying everything it's reverted to 1.3 and everything that didn't work in 2.0 is working fine, hopefully it doesn't try to update again overnight as 2.0 is clearly utter junk.

Hi @Hoover123  I thought it might have been my imagination as I have not seen others commenting on it but the very first thing I said when updated to OS2.0 was that the picture seemed better.

Hi @r0adster As reported numerous times in this thread there are some features that are not YET included with the OS2.0 update and unfortunately UHD on Sports channels is one of them.

Have a browse of post 192 for Sky's official post on the subject.

If you want to leave the beta trial have a look at the bottom of this LINK for instructions on how to leave and revert to OS 1.3

Sorry you had this experience, but it is a trial and issues and some flagged missing features is something that can be expected as participation of the trial.

As @Fothergill1  has already mentioned, has been posted many times within this thread and from Sky in the post here ,(seems you may not have seen yourself) some features are not yet available in the trial, but will be available later in the trial:

• UHD button on Sports Channels.
• Favourite Channels in the TV Guide.
• Browsing Channels while watching content.
• Customising Subtitles.

We have mentioned many times on here and Sky have asked us to mention regularly, to only perform a factory reset when Sky have asked asked you to do so or you are on a call/chat with Sky. It can sometimes cause some current or later account issues that can take Sky sometime in cases to resolve.

A factory reset is not a recommended way to leave the trial.

You should only use the official method of leaving the trial as described within this Sky OS 2.0 help article;

Hopefully, going forwards doing your factory reset will not cause you any issues.

Your green screen may have been some kind of HDPC issue, that does sometimes happen across the many TVs, soundbars and differening connections we all use. Often, it's a temporary issue we have found from many years on here and is often  resolved with powering off all your TV, Sky device, soundbars etc and starting in a steady startup from scratch.

Must admit, I watched most F1 sessions through Thursday to Saturday on both my pucks in UHD and jumping in out of race control, seeing no issues.

If it's any comfort, I did on rare occasions get a green screen blip on one of my TVs on the old previous Sky OS.
Not seen any on this new OS, so far.

The other green screen issue that is more prominent on here when it first launched, but only happens occasionally now, is a green screen with sound during adverts for the Paramount + app.

That does it for me on about 1 out of every 100 or so ads playing a green screen with sound briefly, that as I said I got it on the previous Sky OS build and have also seen it once on Sky OS 2.0, I assume it is more a Paramount+ app issue than Sky OS 2.0

Have also noticed a sharper pq, mainly most noticeable on ITV and Sky Sports channels.

@lettice  Re F1 I watched it all with no issues at all thought the picture was really clear sound perfectly  in sync  and to be honest never noticed it was not in UHD ..  Only comment is it took a few seconds to get a picture when I switched to the channel - but that is  fairly normal .

Not sure if you have tried, for your pucks that do not turn on, can you try the recovery procedure as on step 4 in the Sky help  article linked below, to see if it brings them back to life.

Often, as we see on the community, when they are in the state you describe, they are stuck in a standby state and the recovery procedure helps.

@lettice  Thanks I have found pressing the power switch on the base of the puck kicks  it back into life no issues - it's like it just hangs on start up . Interestingly it the two later version pucks that  have the issue the older ones are fine .

2.0 is Beta, do you know what beta means?  

Beta testing is the final phase of pre-release software testing where a near-complete product is given to real users outside the development company to find bugs and usability issues

Itvx app has been updated generally in 1.3 too quality is improved.

Yes i am perfectly aware what beta means thanks,  but to come back from holiday to find you can't watch a single thing I'm sure you can imagine is rather annoying,  yes I expect glitches but I also expect it to do something, i couldn't play any of the so called recordings,  i couldn't watch 50% of live TV channels, the ones I could watch wouldn't allow me to watch from the beginning, maybe because I was away for a week when my puch updated then other things happened because I wasn't using it i dont know but I still expect it to work reasonably!

Also apologies if I came across abrupt, after a long flight and travelling all day I just wanted to sit down and relax and catch up with the F1 as I'd manage to avoided any spoilers to find a complete nightmare of problems, 

My puck has updated to 2.0 overnight again after reverting to 1.3 so I can have another play and read through the posts which I never got to see while being away.

My Sky Glass is stuck on software version 1.3 and missing the home interface updates.
