Mine does it after any adverts whether you just let it run or FF. it is so frustrating. I have done all the things suggested but still take a lot of time before it will start after the ads.  It's very unfair to have a channel that makes it virtually impossible to watch a programme you want to see. Something needs to be done to fix this problem.

I hope they do as at the moment it is far too annoying to attempt to watch anything on 5 only to end up giving up when it keeps happening

I have just come on to report this issue. I am currently trying to watch Dan Brown Lost Symbol & the freezing, not going through the adverts & having to restart the app is really frustrating & I am about to give up altogether. 
Is this going to be fixed?

It doesn't seem so. These comments have been going on for some time. Sky don't seem to be interested at all. No point really in having an App that seems to work very sporadically as is shown by the many comments. Really annoying.

Thank you. It would be great to have an answer to this as there is no point watching anything on this app as it happens constantly. Might as well just remove it. 
I look forward to being able to watch that channel again

Just to be different, as well as freezing after the adverts, my screen now sometimes just goes blank. No FF no rewind. Nothing. Have to restart Sky. This happens whether using Sky glass Tv or a puck. As I'm paying Sky over £1000 a year for the "privilage" of watching TV, I think getting this issue sorted is long overdue.

Mine is doing that too now. It's just not acceptable and this problem with Five has been going on for so long.  SKY is doing nothing to fix the problem

Now going on to 5 all I get is a black screen. This is ridiculous.
