My thoughts after 5 months
We had sky q for years but to take over the account from my wife I had to start a new one and without telling us they gave us sky stream. A case of mis-selling right there!
I've been on the phone to technicians for hours with most of them blaming the broadband (sky300) and telling me it's great when you get used to it, one of them telling me 'my mum loves it now she's figured it out'! But the truth is the pucks and the software therein are not fit for purpose. Whereas sky q was almost instant channel change this system always has like a two second freeze before doing anything. To find your favourites you go to tv guide and click up but sometimes it just goes to view all. There are so many little annoying things like this that make everything a battle in comparison. Sometimes it confuses itself so much it reboots taking another minute or so.
In my opinion before trying to phase out sky dishes they should have made sure they had an adequate system to replace it.
This isn't it!

We're thinking similar. Not enjoying the sky stream experience so far. It's poor.

Data for every possible channel falls on the dish surface all the time, so changing is as simple as switching local tuner frequency. This cannot be the case for streaming.

Dishes aren't the issue: the upcoming end of life of the current trio of Astra satellites at 28.2E is rather more fundamental.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: My thoughts after 5 months
The product is junk - I'm out as soon as the contract finishes.
