Every day my streaming from my puck flashes intermittently with a warning that says HDCP is not authorised on the TV please switch off at the socket for 1 minute

That's a HDMI handshake issue. Either you have a faulty puck, HDMI cable or HDMI port on your TV or you have an older TV that isn't liking latest HDMI or HDCP protocols.

The HDMI port on the puck 2.1 but Sky supply a 2.0 cable as this is sufficient in most circumstances.

And HDCP is version 2.2 I believe

  1. If you have a smart TV capable of connecting to the internet, see if there is a software/firmware update for it. Sometime handshaking issues are resolved via software updates.
  2. Try changing the HDMI cable between your puck and your TV. A faulty cable may preclude HDCP handshaking.
  3. Contact Sky to have your puck swapped in case your puck has an issue in its HDMI port.

@Maximus0917 I'd start with the easiest option and that's to do a Google search on my make and model of TV to see if there are any known issues with HDCP 2.2 compatibility

Did anyone manage to sort this? My sky puck has been fine till we stitched the plugs from an extension to the wall socket.. I know I have an old tv but that's never been an issue

Update to my own comment. Ignore the "switch off the tv at the socket" message. I took out the hdmi from the puck and put it back in. Works now
