Re: My Sky Stream review

I recently ordered the sky stream puck and my honest opinion is the idea is great, if it works properly, I have had so many problems with it. Remote works when it wants to, apps play in background after starting another one up, freezing, asking for pin at 11pm to watch a 12 rated programme, continuing a programme in the wrong place, a black screen and crashing 3 times now. I have been sent a second box and had more problems. This is all happened in 3 DAYS. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Customer service has been great apart from one person said they wound ring me back and never did, just left me waiting for nothing. Then I had to ring 😡

They did offer me 2 months free ultra HD and no ads

But unfortunately due to the poor quality of the device I will be ending it early as both devices showed similar problems and new problems. I would've expected better from sky. I was WRONG

Re: My Sky Stream review

I moved from Sky Q due to issues with Sky support as I was connected to a communal dish ( weekly/daily freezing, pixelating, no signal - however, a power reset on Sky Q box mostly fixed these bizarrely)  and so was hoping that my need to regularly reset Sky box would stop, but unfortunately, like you, I have black screen, freezing and the strangest one (which I also had on Sky Q after a reset) is the settings changing from 2160p to 1080p for no reason.  I have to often (a couple of time a week, with no apparent cause) go to settings to change this back to 2160p.  I only find out when I notice I am not being offered the "watch in UHD" option.  Not much of an improvement in reliability from Sky Q, but when it works, picture Q is very good.  I will persist and hope updates get round to sorting out these issues.

Love it when it works.... Hate it when it doesnt

Re: My Sky Stream review

It has a few concerning issues with the last two comments.  I'm a week in

I have Virgin Media for my broadband at 250 Mb, but I use the Asus XT8 for my Wi-Fi and use the Virgin router in modem mode.

The only issues I have had are a DRM issue on Channel 4 catchup and a technical error when trying to start a program from the beginning on ITV, but it worked fine from the catch-up .

The remote can be laggy now and again

UHD been great, sound had been great.
