Lip sync issue solved

I've found a solution to the lip sync issue, seen as Sky closed the original thread unsolved (despite their claim it's solved).

I've cancelled ever Sky product I have. Top speed broadband, top package TV, 2 pucks and 3 phones all gone. Lip sync issues are a thing of the past.

Good luck to all the people left hanging when they closed the original thread.

@Common+Sense+Talker Sky released an update a couple of months ago and I haven't had any lip sync issues since I was updated so your issue was presumably caused by something else.

Re: Lip sync issue solved

Ah, I see, so yours is ok, that must mean everybody's is fixed.

It didn't fix these problems though, unless I basically remove all surround sound features it has, but whilst I'm at it, there are other faults:

The remote refuses to stay connected to my 2024 Sony Bravia TV. I have to switch it on by the switch on the box.

It locks up literally every 2 days or less.

If you click pause it switches off with no resume state, but if you leave it idle in any other screen it plays a Sky screen saver

You can't press the 'off' button and have it switch off the TV and your audio unit.

Clicking the home or on button intermittently with to switch it on, if it's decided to not like your TV model.

The fast forward thorough adverts doesn't work unless you spam the fast forward button.

Just going back to the, it switching off on pause live TV, how on earth can that not be a bug that's gone on for 2 years. If sitting on the planner brings up a screensaver then interrupting the main thing you're watching, the actual TV program you're watching and the box going into standby with no easy way to return to the program you where watching be a conscious programming idea by whoever wrote the software? It's appalling.

It's so far away from the Sky Q box, it's in different divisions. Sky dismantling their box making department and introducing these cheap Chinese boxes will be their downfall.

Re: Lip sync issue solved

Oh, and let's talk about their implementation of HDR, Jesus wept, what a mess.

Let's talk about the fast forward and rewind features. They don't work. It's impossible to know where or when to stop them. There's no visual ques on the screen.

There's no way to individually mark an episode you want to watch later. Just add everything ever made to your watch list.

It's an awful replacement for sky q. Lot even close. I'm staggered they released this as a finished product.

As above the lip sync issue was fixed some months back.

Not seen it of late, being an issue on here for others to any extent.

I myself, never encountered the issue back those many months ago at all on my Sky Stream pucks with any of my TVs and soundbar equipment.

I do remember the long thread we had back then and helped customers through the issue, moderated it with moving many posts into the thread and keeping Sky informed of the issue, to the resolution with updates.

, what a mess.

I use HDR within Sky Sports for F 1 and Indycar on the Sky Sports F1 dedicated channel and the cricket, PL and EFL many times a week via the UHD/HDR on screen link to the Ultra HD content (the Ultra HD channels)

Plus I do frequent the Sky Sports Main Event UHD channel for watching any content upscaled from HD to UHD/HDR content from other sports like Golf.

I play plenty of playlisted and searched for On demand Sky content from many series that air regularly watch in UHD/HDR.

For example last few days  has been The Rookie, the three FBIs, Chicago PD, The Gilded Age, The Paper and The Atomic.

Often play UHD/HDR films in Sky Cinema, in fact this week have played and enjoyed the new The Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim in UHD/HDR.

Do not encounter any problems currently and have not that I recall in my 18+ months of having Sky Stream playing any of the above or similar in UHD/HDR along with its Dolby Atmos sound.

And that is the way to show you are not happy, I dont blame you. I'm very much in the camp of running out the door if something I pay for does not work as expected, regardless of whether it works for others or not. I have one tv (LG C8) that has lip sync with Sky Stream and the only way I could fix it was to connect Sky Stream directly to my soundbar instead of the TV which it likes. I did contemplate changing the tv, but it is  such a good tv and the fact I only watch it occasionally because it's in another room, I decided not too. @Common+Sense+Talker
