Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

Christmas is also coming!!!

All very frustrating and unacceptable the time it takes an update to happen when it's already been out for a while

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

It doesn't fix the issue anyway mate. I'd start to think about a solution without Sky involved if I was you.

I've found I can do most of what my Sky Stream is doing on the Google TV built into my TV and the Freeview tuner. So I'm counting the days until my subscription is finished. I'm canning Sky. It's not worth the money nor the effort trying to get it to work all the time. I firmly believe there is a fundamental hardware issue here, and clearly the problem is not resolvable without a new device. But that could be years if it takes them a year to send out a software fix that doesn't resolve any of the issues.

No need to wait - ring up sky. With stream you can cancel anytime with no cost.

While, they're not, apparent to you, there are obvious logistical reasons for a gradual rollout. Time will tell whether you're one of the first or one of the last to get it.

That is, of course, an option, if the wait is too unacceptable or frustrating....

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

They really should have something that is fit for purpose rather than constant issues and a better gadget. It looks like they rush things out just to get into the market and to compete with others

I am trying to be patient and one day everything will work correctly and we will all be happy

You're on one hand saying they're rushing, and on the other hand complaining that they're taking the time to get the fix right.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

I wasn't aware that I could cancel. I thought I was on a 2 year contract. Is there an easy way to confirm this without having to have a long phone conversation with them?

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

The time its taking to sort is far too long but I get your point but they should not be having so many issues when bringing out a product

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

Not really, but I did. They're not exactly advertising it for obvious reasons. Phone cancellations and ask for a termination quote. I did and they said whilst the contract says "may have cancellation fees", the fees are zero - they were when I cancelled.  Pucks go back via prepaid post.

Yeah I'm not so sure either. Certainly true if you just have Sky Stream on a rolling month contract but I believe if you have Sky Stream on a Sky Ultimate TV type contract where you pay a lower offer price with discounts appied on your statement each month for the contract period then you may incur a cancellation fee. Not 100% sure but seems logical..from Sky's POV.

@Common+Sense+Talker You should be on a rolling contract with Sky. Even if you're not Sky are not fulfilling their contract because you cannot listen to Atmos because of the lip sync issues. Ring the cancellation team and simply give them notice to quit. Even with a rolling contract Sky demand a 31 days notice so they can squeeze another month's subscription. As far as I'm aware they are the only service that demand this. $$$$$ky. I often dip in and out of my other subscriptions on line. Easy, not the climb through hoops that Sky demand.

Seriously? Now that is naughty.

Sky's rolling contracts always require 31 days notice to cancel, as per their terms and conditions.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

You couldn't make this up. I switched my main TV puck with another TVs puck to see if it helps (this bug doesn't affect the other TV as it uses the TV speakers) and now my volume control won't pair to the other TVs. BOTH of them. Both of them are now coming through as unsupported TVs even though the were working an hour ago. That's after a 7 and 9 and a 1 and 3 and re-setting them back up again. I know can't use volume control on either of my Sky remotes. This system is so riddled with bugs it's incredible.
