Re: Sky Stream Sound Out of Sync. What is the latest.

Sorry to see you are having issues

I had this all the time but since firmware fixes were made (quite a few were needed) I have not had the issues for many months.

When you post, please add the firmware version of the Sky Stream device (It's in Settings -> System Management menu right at the bottom of the main menu.

Also mention if you are using a sound bar or how your audio is configured as that could make a difference as well

Regards

Lip Sync Issue - UHD On Demand

Having lip sync issues on sky stream, particularly noticeable when streaming UHD on demand films. The audio is slightly ahead of the picture and it's infuriating, someone stops speaking and their jaw is still going. Live TV is generally ok although have seen it a bit and it seems largely isolated to on demand sky cinema etc.

Set-up is straightforward puck into top end TV, (Bravia 8 II), no sound bars etc, with decent hdmi cable that handles 4k120 VRR gaming - sound straight from TV speakers. Nothing else plugged into the TV or streamed from the TV OS has this issue, and given the track record of sky stream it firmly looks like it's the puck.

Lip sync issues

Hi,

I'm also having the lip sync issues on this new Sky puck thing.

no matter what I do, the issue is still there and varies between channels so altering the delay in settings is useless.

I've tried it on 2 setups with different TVs, Panasonic and LG, connected to an Pioneer and Yamaha AVR. The Puck is connected to the TV and the avrs in the arc port. PS5 and Firestick don't seem to have the issue when connected in the exact port and using the same sky supplied hdmi cable.

I take it this hasn't been solved still?

Lip sync issues

Hey all,

Any ideas how I can fix the lip sync issues between my sky puck and my sound bar, it's driving me mad.

None of the web/sky  advice has worked this far...

Re: Lip sync

I have a Bravia 8 II and I am also getting the lip sync issues when streaming UHD HDR content on the Sky Stream puck. I have no soundbar, just the TV as it is. The picture is slightly behind the sound - enough to make it look badly dubbed and just weird.

This is completely ridiculous from Sky and I am entirely convinced that it is an issue with the puck. I have no problem over HDMI with any other source - 4k blu ray player and Playstation, nor with any of the apps running on the TV.

The puck is clearly the issue here. The TV has everything set up to sync video and audio and it is whatever is coming out of the puck is lagging at higher resolutions/HDR. The manual adjustment you can apply to the audio output isn't particularly helpful as the gap between sound and picture seems to vary depending on whether it is running directly from Sky or through Netflix in the puck. Either way it's not right.

Re: Lip sync

Try going into the Puck sound settings and take it out of Auto & put it into PCM mode.

Lip sync in UHD Sky Stream

Significant lip sync issues in UHD programmes, picture is being the audio. It is NOT my TV, or any other part of the set up - have tested everything and the variable that breaks it is the streaming puck every single time. Adding audio delay is useless as the lag varies across sports, cinema, Atlantic, netflix etc, PCM or Passthrough does nothing to help. Sky - what is going on here? The puck is clearly not capable of handling these formats in sync.

Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

Typically after 40-40mins of watching any channel through Sky Broadband, the lip-synch jumps and becomes annoying. Switching the TV and Sky StreamPuck completely off and starting again can rectify it but this is time consuming and unacceptable. We've put up with this for 10 months!

I turned to sky community to seek understanding and noticed that a post in 2024 had been closed bt an employee of Sky, rearruring the 1500+ posts that a plan was being rolled out. Obviously I am not the only one with this problem. My contract is fixed until May 2027 after which, if not resolved, I willl not be renewing.

Has anyone managed to find a solution to the problem. If so, please could you share your experience.

Thanks

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

@Curly_hair_dog

I never found a reliable solution so I left. I have had no lip sync issues using the NOWTV app on an Apple TV 4K box. I get all the same Sky content I used to watch on Sky Stream, in the same quality, but with much more reliable A/V sync.
