Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

@Paul+Dray

I've noticed a change in volume at the start of a program. I didn't pay much attention but it looks like you are right

Re: Sky puck lip sync issue

Same versions of everything here - but had another call this morning saying sync is out...wondered if I'd left the 100ms delay on I'd tried to resolve the issue with...but no, I'd set it back to 0ms and she's right, there is still definitely a noticeable delay. Movement on the screen comes before the sound arrives.

Will try tinkering with the Sonos settings, but I'm thinking the latest Sky software update hasn't fixed this as intended 😕

All the latest versions I believe - same issue present.

changing channel seems to give SOME improvement - but it's still not synced up at any time.

@MattCray yes that's the latest at the moment. What's your setup? Do you use a soundbar or a built in speaker etc? Is this on any particular channels?

Re: Sky puck lip sync issue

Thanks.

yes - using a sound bar - a Sonos Ray connected optically.

Puck connected into the Samsung 4k Tv via the HDMI that came in the box with the puck.

Seems to be on all channels to be honest - and gets progressively worse.

Re: Sky puck lip sync issue

Thanks @MattCray

When It comes to lip sync issues they're often dumped together as a single bug but there's probably a bunch at play and it sounds the most recent update didn't fix it for the one you're experiencing unfortunately.

One quick question, is it possible to run it with eARC via HDMI rather than optical to see if that behaves any different? That might be useful data for Sky to look into next.

Believe the Sonos Ray has no hdmi connection at all. Purely connects from the optical audio out on back of TV's.

What audio setting do you have the puck set to? The Sonos Ray only supports either PCM Stereo or Dolby Digital. I'd have Sky Stream puck set to Dolby Digital with a Sonos Ray. Also with it coming from the TV's optical audio out you should also check your actual TV audio settings themselves too as they sometimes have audio sync settings for the optical out on the TV.

Re: Sky puck lip sync issue

@kendoe47 I completely agree and been saying this for a while. The puck I don't think and many others have said the same thing, including Sky engineers and they say it needs major improvement

Re: Sky puck lip sync issue

Hi All, Just watching the darts on Sky, lypsync is back. You hear the thud of the dart before it hits the board most annoying. Tried the Skygo app on my Samsung tablet no sound issues at all. I am convinced the puck is at fault. Major problem in my view. Sky cannot sit on this, it needs addressing pronto.

Re: Sky puck lip sync issue

Completely agree @kendoe47 it's stuttering on channel 922 so much during the golf. Not good enough Sky

You have indeed. And yet the Puck works fine for most which would suggests no major hardware improvement is needed.

Re: Sky puck lip sync issue

Don't agree and if you look at many messages there are several others who have issues

One of these days all issues will be fixed. Have to say the lip sync is better now but got black screen again on the latency channel and also stuttering.
