Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

  • I can see the lip sync issues go back to january 24 .  I tried to adjust audio digital delay and that didn't work .  I rang sky and was told it was a known issue they were working on but with no resolution date .  I asked if i could complain and was told i could but they would tell me the same thing . That was over a year ago .  Last week i found a solution on Ai . Changed from sound option from ARC ( enhanced Audio Return channel) to Dolby Digital plus . I then found that adjusting audio digital delay worked .  I complained to sky online about  the original brush off and the fact i had suffered poor service and had to find my own resolution. Asked for a call back which didn't happen . Got a brush off email rang sky to escalate and was offered £25 the one months fee £47 we are now at impasse and next step will be to contact CICIS .  Sky make complaining hard work

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

Hi all

I recently had problems with the sync of the sound, I found it happening on Channel 4catch up  app, but it was always during the ad break. It would be a good second or more out. I switched sound to PCM but it still happened and would have to turn sound bar off and on again to get it back to normal sync ..Having said that today it was all ok on 4 catch up..

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

I mentioned in this thread that I was getting lip-sync probems with my puck back in December last. Since then, I ditched Sky broadband in April when the price rose, which you may do penalty free whether in contract or not. I quit because it never, or rarely, achieved the guaranteed speed  I did call in and had varied responses by the agents. The last one basically didnot give care so glad I managed to quit when I did. I went back ro Virgin Media. SInce going back, I have not had any lip sync problem in the ensuing four months.

One pther thing, not related to lip-sync (but I'm not posting again), the puck regularly started and said there was no wifi, despite wifi being turned off as I use Ethernet, as I had been advised by a Sky agent. I turned wifi back on and kept it on Ethernet. Now I only get it occasionally and it clears after a few presses of of the Home button.

I'm still not sold on the Stream puck vs VM's 360 though. The playlist allegedly records but no, it does not link access to all streams, but that is a whole other grouse 😄

But yeah, lip-sync seems to have been OK since getting of Sky's BB. Whether any other Openreach virtual ISPs would be any better, I don't know.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

Hi All, I have recently changed my broadband supplier. I am now with Bfibre with a speed of 900Mbps download and 900Mbps upload absolutely rock solid. As for LypSync virtually gone away. Only faults now are screen stutter changing from program to adverts and the occasional screen freeze. I can live with these.

Certainly 100% better with fast Internet.

My setup is Hisense N7 55inch, Denon AVR- S660H, Sky stream puck. AVR connected by eArc. Sky stream by ethernet.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

I found scrolling right down to settings on the Sky controller, then Sound then cancelling Dolby and ticking 'passthrough' worked for me

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream

To the genius at Sky who thought putting the sound sync setting at the bottom of the page with NO picture to adjust the settings too...................well done numb nuts.

Lip Sync issue with Stream

Having lip sync issues with stream on both TVs (Hisense & LG), had Stream only a few months and its sooo annoying - despite resetting, sound changes etc - still jumps regularly resulting in speech being out with picture. Turing Stream off and on - resolves until the next time!!!

Any suggestions please - as regretting the change to Stream despite sales pitch when renewing contract!

Lip sync seems to be entirely dependent on individual equipment as some people maintain that they are not affected, whilst others find it constantly problematic.

I assume you've tried changing the audio output to PCM, DD+, or Passthrough on the puck to see if it helps?

TBH I was never able to get a reliable and stable lip sync on my puck, which is largely why I got rid of it. No other device I use had issues, only the Stream puck.

Lip sync issues

I have just switched to a sky puck.

I have a hisense TV and a sky sound bar. Every time I switch on the TV I have to reset the lip sync.

Do I need a new speaker system or should I switch to sky glass gen 2

Thanks in advance for help
