Jet sound watching football using live sync

Whenever I choose 'live sync' on 501 Main Event the crowd noise sounds live a jet overhead but is fine without live sync.
Has anyone else found this, and any idea of a solution please?

What sound and options are you using  on your Sky puck.

Im having a Dolby banner on my TV ( so it's picking up the Sky puck set Dolby option) via TV speaker.

Using the Dolby Digital Plus option on the Sky Stream puck, that I've always used.

Switching between Main event uhd channel and Main event uhd live sync at 922 sound the same.

Oh, just tuned  into the Sky main event hd live sync channel 921

See what you mean, it sure does sound like a jet hovering around the ground.

@lettice   I'm watching via a Sonos Beam and in settings Dolby Digital but not Dolby digital plus.  Does that make any  difference?

Re: Jet sound watching football using live sync

Is anyone able to provide an answer to this please?  Watching SkySpME and selecting Lip sync is unlistenable.  Thanks

Re: Jet sound watching football using live sync

Hi @Chloe-W22   Thank you for responding.  I can see I have not been clear enough in my explanation.  It is mainly football that I watch on SkySPME so uncertain if this happens for other sports on that channel.  However it is literally every football match and once I choose Live Sync it is exaggerated by the crowd noise.  It is barely audible when the crowd is quiet but becomes very load as the crowd get excited such as one of the home team players making a run down the wing or near the goal and it is a distortion of that crowd roar that sounds just like a jet flying overhead.  So while I am happy to do as you request it happens each time I watch a football match on that channel.  The moment I take off Live Sync the noise stops and the crowd noise sounds normal.  I hope that helps.

Re: Jet sound watching football using live sync

Hi @Chloe-W22  Just as an update, I have watched one or two football matches on 'live sync' since our chat and found that the noise I mentioned wasn't too bad and wondered if it was something your team had done to improve it.  However today I watched the second half of the Leeds v Stoke match and it had returned to the point I couldn't continue listening and had to come out of live sync.  As you had asked for a specific example I thought I would mention it.

I didn't watch the first half of the match but would imagine it would have been just the shame.  The Leeds match is a good example as they scored 6 goals and the home crowd noise cheering was almost continuous.  It appears obvious to me that it is that constant cheering that makes the live sync sound, it is like it can't cope with separating all the cheering sounds and just converts it into a constant background jet sounding noise.   I hope that helps.

Hi @Stephen+Mourton

Apologies I didn't see your last message!

Thanks for this, it's really helpful.

Few quick questions:

- Are you using any sound systems? If so does disconnecting that make any difference?

- What is your 'Digital audio output HDMI' set to (in Sound settings) and does it make any difference changing that setting?

We're not receiving similar reports of this happening but if you let me know the above I can see if I can get the stream reviewed.

Re: Jet sound watching football using live sync

@Chloe-W22   Thanks for getting back to me.  It will have to be when I get chance to watch another SPME football match but I will then they your suggestions and get back to you.   I notice your comment about not receiving similar reports which is fair enough, although you may notice that @lettice  mentioned in this thread had also experienced it.
