For the second time in a week, whilst watching iplayer, it closes down without warning and then sky stream shuts down. I am with hyperoptic for my broadband and they are aware of issues, but was told it was fixed today, with regards to issues between HO and Sky.
Anyone else had this issue?
Still love stream though

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Super+Anthony There is a pretty comprehensive thread relating to recent problems with Hyperoptic broadband at the following link Hyperoptic Issues I wouldn't know if the issue was fixed or not.

It's been locked @Fothergill1 and been encouraged to start a new one if any further issues

Have Hyperoptic put you back on a Hyperoptic dns in your router yet or are you still using Google or Cloudfare ones?
Would assume if it is truly fixed, they would encourage you to go back to using their own dns.
Have been using iPlayer throughout the last few weeks for the Wimbledon coverage and the Euro football.
Do not watch much else on BBC usually, apart from a few episodes each week of the Classic Doctor Who from the 60s to 80s.
Have had no issues on any of the above on my Sky Stream pucks last few weeks with that viewing.
I'm on Sky broadband Ultrafast+ 500Mbps.
One puck on wifi, other on ethernet.
Do tend to flick from the iPlayer app to linear TV and other apps with a voice prompt and back again. Not one for ever exiting the apps.
It works clean and without issue like that for me.
Google dns should be added to your router as
Primary = 8.8.8.8
Secondary = 8.8.4.4
Cloudfare dns should be
Primary = 1.1.1.1
Secondary = 1.0.0.1
Best not to mix and match Google and Cloudfare dns on your router, it will work but may cause temporary problems for certain paths for services.

@lettice I can confirm that both for me are Cloudflare. I spoke to HO yesterday and they said it was fixed, but I should keep them posted. I was watching the football as I said, and it all went. I wonder if you don't flick and after a period of time, it shuts down. HO therefore need to sort a fix. They have been very helpful.
I just don't want to go back to Q as I love stream

It is not fixed if they are asking you to still use a third party dns.
Any isp would want their customers to use their own dns for a number of reasons and it would be wrong for them to have customers rely on a third party dns as a permanent solution.
Using a third party dns would only be a temporary measure to cure a problem, like their recent problems with Sky Stream.

@lettice Still having issues again with the blue screen saying please wait at the beginning along with the closing down on apps. Have chased HO. Clearly it's still not been fixed. HO and Sky need to really sort out the issues quickly now as it's getting very frustrating. Both need to do far more and speed up the issues. Sky I feel maybe need to take a bit more involvement as it's there gadget?
I still love the gadget but I like many others would like it all to be fixed and dealt with, and then we will all be happy customers 😀😂

Is there an issue why you can't move to one of the ISP's that does not have issues?
