ITV app is garbage

Trying to watch anything on the ITV catch up app is unwatchable.

It constantly freezes and I have to reboot the puck.  I actually gave up this evening and used the app on my LG TV.

Add to this the pixelation on some programmes and I'm off. I'll come back when sky release a useable service.

Hi

what kind of speed are you getting to your device ?

you can check this by going into the Netflix app and running the network check in the settings

Mate I've got 1Gb symmetrical broadband so that's not the issue. The app is fine on my Nvidia Shield and built in TV app.

Re: ITV app is garbage

I've tried both ethernet and Wi-fi the issues persist.

An example would be while watching Deal or No Deal this evening , the app will freeze and the only way to deal with it is a reboot. This can happen multiple times to the point I give up and watch it on the shield instead.

The itv app can be problematic sometimes it was even worse when it was the old itv hub ! Have you tried the app refresh in the settings ..... it takes a few hours to work in the background. Other than that I can escalate your post to the online sky community team.

@DeliveryMan I'm not a fan of ITVX either.  Have you tried clearing the cache?  You can do this as follows

Open the app & enter 0 0 0 0 7 7 7 (there is nowhere specific to enter this code, just type it on your remote when on the ITVX homepage).  This clears the cache and should help resolve any issues with the specific ITVX app. After entering the code the App should respond by saying “The storage has been cleared”. After this the App will reset and display the privacy & cookies information. Select continue.

Re: ITV app is garbage

@DeliveryMan   The suggestions by @Jporch316  are good and standard procedure however it may also be that the ITV app on Stream is poor,  I certainly find it frustrating.

Can't say I have the same problems with the app like you do. Try an app refresh in the settings to see if it helps.
