How do you tell the difference between Generation 1 and Generation 2 SKY pucks?

I am due to receive a replacement puck today. How will I tell if it is Gen 1 or Gen 2.

I understand SKY does not differntiate between the two when sending out replacements. which seems a bit strange to me. 

Will I be sure to recieve a previously unused puck as a replacement?

Will I be sure to recieve a previously unused puck as a replacement? No as Sky will use what is in stock and don 't have a never ending supply of unused pucks, they are after all loaned to you.

My puck is being sent back, at the request of SKY, because it seems to be faulty. Does this mean it will go into a stockpile and be sent out to somebody else?

Hi @Simon92 I have an original puck and have never actually seen the newer version but I believe the power supply is smaller. Other than that you look the same.

It'll be refurbished and potentially sent out to another customer if it passes refurb QC tests. 
Look in the bottom of the puck for either 

IP061 or IP061B 

If it's 1B then it's the newer generation of puck with (potentially) better performance (allegedly) as reported by some customers.

@Angel_Aka I have had the 1st and 2nd versions of the puck (the most obvious difference from the the outside being the off white power supply for the 2nd). My experience is that the 2nd puck is considerably faster, startup, menus, channel switching, app access, than the 1st.
