Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

Don't know if you've sorted this.  I had a similar problem. When I initially started HBO through the Skyapp menu I went through "sign in" rather than "Get HBO" because the latter had a warning about being double charged subs. But all I could watch was my TNT stuff (which one had just come across from Discovery).  It was the 4th Sky techie I spoke to who worked it out.  Becky (her name) had to remove HBO from my account and allow me to re-acces it through the "ger HBO" button.  Also my subscriptions under HBO settings shows both TNT and Sky basic.

At the risk of asking a daft question, can I ask how you managed to get through to speak to a real person??

I've tried calling, but get caught up in the bot system.

Can you remember which number options you went for when you called?

Thanks!

Tracy

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

Not a daft question!  In the end the person who sorted it was on a WhatsApp chat.  I'd actually physically spoken to a couple of technicians a few weeks ago when HBO launched and I got nowhere. After a few WhatsApp chats I called again Friday night (they won't allow me to show the number) and eventually got to another WhatsApp chat.  The guy  i chatted to on Friday wasn't great and time ran out.  They close at 8pm but they reopen the chat next morning (without me having to call).  I then chatted with "Becky" who quickly saw the problem, showed me that my subscription wasn't live (though MySky said it was) and walked through the solution.  So my sense is that it's not about getting to "talk" to anyone it's just finding someone who knows the answer!  The downside of of the chat was that it takes time as I guess they're usually chatting to a number of customers.

Hi @tq31 .  No questions are daft, if you are wondering you can be sure that many others are as well.  Don't be afraid to ask any question you like.

Personally I have found the best way to get around the Chatbots is to answer the basic questions (are you the account holder etc) and then just stay silent and don't answer any more questions.  You will then be added to the queue to speak to a human.

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

Hi

having issues signing up to HBO max , have been trying since it launched with Sky and still no luck.

I have contacted Sky support multi times with regards to this and every time get the same answer , " they are aware of the issue and is being looked into" whilst I appreciate that it has been weeks with no update and no fix given. I am paying for sky ultimate but not getting part of the service which I am paying for and a reason I signed up and joined Sky in the first place.

I have contacted HBO max support who have removed any account associated with my email so I can't see it being that causing the issues as I get even get to a stage where I put in a email to sign up.

No matter what route I try it does not work I have tried through the sky stream puck and get a blue screen and error message. I try through sky app and get a message saying it get do that right now or I opened the page to quickly. I have also tried through web browser both Safari and chrome with private browsing and removed cached.

This is becoming tiresome and frustrating with no help from sky or a public update in regards to the issue or how to fix. Paying for a service that as this point I am not getting and have not been able to use since launch.

Does anyone knows fix ? Or can someone from sky look into this issue and help me sort it ?
Up to this point I keep getting the same answer customer support.

please can someone help have posted this before but never got any contact or support.

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

I completely sympathise. I have had zero joy with Sky also, multiple phone calls etc etc.

I am on Channel Islands, and I have a feeling it could be a territorial issue, as we are technically part of UK, not a UK postcode. Don't know where you are, could this be same issue for you?

I'm on a 30 day cool off after a new contract, think I'll just cancel subscription. Can't be doing with their ineptitude.

Good luck!

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

How can you watch HBO without ads, please - we pay extra for Sky ad skipping, but it doesn't seem to work with HBO?

That's correct.  Watching the tier of HBO Max without advertising requires paying Warner Bros Discovery Ltd more money by upgrading in the Sky Marketplace.

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

Thanks TimmyB, but it won't let me upgrade - looks like you have to wait for Sky to include the upgrade option - so we won't bother watching until we can get rid of the ads!  We also already subscribe to Disney and have to keep unselecting the Sky Disney option when we want to watch something - much as it's good of Sky to add on these extras, I think you should be able to decline them if you don't want or need them!

You can upgrade ad free with Disney through Sky, £4 HD, £9 premium.

@Jan-Saunders you can upgrade/downgrade tiers in your My Sky account (https://www.sky.com/mysky/tv/app-subscriptions) , you just click on the arrow next to Change Plan and it shows you the available options and price.
