Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!
I have tried both through the TV link and via Sky itself to activate HBO and keep getting the message that I am "in a region that does not support the partner activation you are trying to set up" - What gives?

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!
I only see options for HBO app now. If I launch a show, ie rooster from continue watching then it goes to HBO by default,,losing the add skipping I'd already paid for ?

@Gaz5166 which movies? Its worth noting that some of the most recent movie releases, aren't included in the "Basic withs Ads" tier which is the tier via Sky. For a set period after theatrical release movies are put on the Standard and above tiers, before eventually being made available to the basic with ads tier.

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!
That's not a great user experience. I use the continue watching rail for shows and to keep me right, and to make it easy.
this option doesn't advise me that I have that option, just loads the show in the HBO app.
moving away from the show I've already loaded and finding it on sky one catch up is a terrible idea.
Sky should have left people with the shows they had already started to continue on the same platform?
Anyway, thanks for the answer. I'll not be doing that as it's just a waste of time. I'll just stop the add skipping feature as it's a waste of money now.

Yeah, Sky + is pretty much unsueable.
I moved away from it to Stream a while ago and I'm quite happy.
The inability to take advantage of the free/discounted apps is what swayed me in the end.

From the 26th March, HBO Max Basic with Ads is now part of the Sky package for Sky Q/Glass/Stream customers. So, you can enjoy all this entertainment as part of your monthly subscription, at no added cost.
So now we have the same content on one Sky product being promoted as Sky Atlantic programming and on another as HBO Original 🤔
Maybe shouldn't be getting too excited about HBO Max just yet? Its future already appears to be uncertain, following recent acquisition of Warner Bros by Paramount. Apparently plans have already been confirmed to merge HBO Max and Paramount+ into a single service. So this new bundling may be getting unpicked again sometime soon?

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!
Just spoke to sky to continue watching game of thrones with no adverts and UHD I have to pay an extra £10. Even though I already pay for the ad skipping and UHD it does not apply to hbo. So sky take away functionality then want me to pay for it then sky have increased their prices in April. Absolute joke.

hbo mAX
I recently signed up to Sky Broadbandand took the TV package incuding Sky Atlantic and was assured I could watch Game of Thrones, after viewing several episodes when I tried to resume viewing I cannot access it without subscribing to HBO Max. This strikes me as being pretty sharp practice

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!
This is the fault of HBO and not Sky. As with all the streaming companies they are taking their content back and monetising it through apps.

Well sky should be reducing their price if they are losing content and functions not asking for us to pay more for less.

Rooster is available on Sky One Catch Up
I suspect it's only available on Sky (rather than via HBO Max) for 6 months from it's premiere date, since Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms is (17th July) another early 2026 series.
