Re: GB News issues

Thanks for that. How do you access a GB News app? I didn't think that was an option?

Re: GB News issues

My bad sorry I meant for programs in general I will probably go app direct as in iPlayer hub, my 5, 4 etc.

Though food for thought I think it might be worth contacting sky to add the gb news app but doubt they would wish to promote it.

Sky can you add gb news app?

Re: GB News issues

I have found a slight workaround if you like.

Although sky stream does not have the GB news app preinstalled you can access GB News through the youtube app for live and pre-recorded programs.

It may come in handy when the channel is either being glitchy or you are seeking an earlier program.

Hope this helps.

@LAZYNEIL that would require GB News to develop an app that works on Sky OS, and i'd have thought that wouldn't necessarily be worth the development or support costs for them.

Try rebooting your Stream puck - that sometimes clears glitches. Also try changing the audio output on your puck's sound settings to passthrough or DD+ or PCM until you find one that works for your system.

Or, of course, just stop watching GB News. It's appalling.

As I've mentioned above, I regularly watch GB a news early morning, on and off for brief headlines during the day and sometimes for a longer period early evening.

Have not seen any broadcast issues or any lip sync problems of their  output recently going back for a good handful of months or more on my Sky Stream.

They did have some intermittent issues last year occasionally, that was not just on any Sky platform,  it was across all their broadcast platform outputs. They even themselves during those times acknowledge some of the intermittent problems.

Would suggest trying a restart of your Sky Stream box
Go to Settings>Systems Management>Resets & Updates
Select Restart device
Your Sky Stream puck will perform a reboot. It will take a few minutes to complete.

Re: GB News issues

I have a waited over a week before posting this but felt it was worth putting up on here just incase it helps anyone moving forward.

From my previous posts people will know GB News for me was very glitchy, channel would blink (go dark, disappear), I would then receive the 'program waiting to reload', lyp sync issues etc....

It wasn't just now & then it was fairly regular.

For whatever reason I decided to unplug the ethernet, reset the network connection to WIFI and my little annoying puck has now become glitch free in every way.

It's running perfect, and has been this way for over a week now.

I, like most users just assumed ethernet would be best as I have many other devices on my network, but for me this is just not the case.

Afterwards I did a little research and there are some posts going back a couple of years on different forums where people had similar issues and found no matter there broadband supplier, speed, equipment etc..... they just found they had a better user experience using WIFI.

Anyway hope that helps someone.

Re: GB News issues

Tonight 25th August 2025 I lost coverage of gb news at about 21.35 - I could still get it on my phone. It's very frustrating - I love gb news I just wish it was more reliable coverage

Hi @Tina-JW I don't know if you have tried again but GB News is working fine on my setup at the moment.  Maybe they have fixed whatever was causing your issue.

Re: GB News issues

I previously had similar issues with gb news, though since I swapped the puck from ethernet to WiFi it's been glitch free.

If you are running ethernet then maybe give it a try.

Hi @LAZYNEIL  Conventional wisdom says Ethernet is best but I have seen many people who, like you,  find WiFi works best for them. I am lucky in that I have good stable WiFi as well as Ethernet cabled into the walls of my Apartment.  Personally I can't detect any difference between using WiFi or Ethernet.  I actually use the Ethernet for no other reason that it is there so I might as well use it.
