Fed up with stream

I've only had stream pucks for just over two months and I hate it. There's never a day goes by without loss of sound or picture or both. Can I change to sky Q?

Re: Fed up with stream

@Mscol Did you have sky Q before, there can be a big question on the compare one to the other especially as a previous Q user!

Took a quick look at your earlier post with your response on that, i am an ex sky Q user, ditched it years ago, but inserted my own sat box and setup streaming throughout the home, some say it's the sky pucks with the problem and some with wireless and even wired connections do not help, so is this your first foray into streaming etc....

Sky Q may just be a on it's way out and sky really are not pushing it very much as that if/is to be the case and/then digital streaming is the future!

Re: Fed up with stream

I think if you had Sky Q and switched to Stream you had a 30 day cooling off period to change your mind. If you've never had Sky Q you won't get it as Sky don't supply it to new customers.

That's not correct. They have stopped selling it online but it can be ordered via the phone:

Although Sky Stream allows you to watch the shows you love over WiFi, there may be times when Sky Q works better for you, including:

- You don't have access to the internet
- Your internet speeds falls below the suggested minimum speed
- High bandwidth usage from other devices on your network
- Your home setup limits the capabilities (e.g. thick concrete walls or interference)

If you think Sky Q is the right option for you, then please call us where we'll be happy to help you make the right choice.

Re: Fed up with stream

@mikealanr Okay. That's why I prefixed my post with "I think" due to not entirely trusting what Sky advisors tell me. I had Sky Q from 2016 up until a couple of months ago when the hard drive failed. I phoned up to see about a replacement and was offered Sky Stream for £14 less than I was paying with all the same subscriptions. He explained the cooling off period where I could change my mind and generally discussed the future of Sky Q. I was told as I stated above.
I guess my actual advice to the OP would be to phone up and see what they say.
