Everything is getting a bit off topic.

My post related to a hardware device, the Sky Stream puck, and it's user unfriendly interface compared with two other hardware devices, Sky Q UHD and Apple TV4K.

Interesting as it may be, comparisons with streaming apps and operating systems is not relevant to my post.

Having recently spent some time playing around with the tvOS on an Apple TV 4K box I'm inclined to agree with you. It's much easier and more user-friendly than EntertainmentOS.

If there aren't significant improvements to both the performance of the hardware and the useability of the Stream puck UI, I can see me jumping ship and buying an Apple TV 4K box instead. I don't really watch that much Sky UHD HDR stuff any more. Seeing how well NOW works on Apple hardware has got me thinking. I could get a refurbished model for less than £100 and get pretty much everything I currently do on Stream for a lot less money on faster hardware. Hmmm.

I agree that if Apple sort their spat out with Netflix and the BBC out that ATV is the best streamer but I can't see that happening anytime soon 🥲

The HDR films on Stream are very good though, but unless you're watching HDR then the reason to use Sky at all is diminishing rapidly.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

Worth noting that Apple is a multinational billion pound company offering a premium priced streaming platform with an OS that's been developed over 20 years .......

The Sky Stream package has some benefits over Sky Q UHD.

Dolby Atmos works, UHD picture quality is better as it is not limited by Satelite bandwith.

Streaming from apps using Sky Stream puck,  ITVX etc, is advert free.

I now access Apple TV+, Netflix, Paramount, Disney, iPlayer and Prime through the Apple TV4K.

ITVX, C4, C5 and Sky using the puck.

I have just moved from Sky+ and I agree. It is very pretty but I just want a simple list of stuff that I have recorded. It's so messy that I have gone back to my old Humax PVR and cancelled the ad skipping. As for the Tennis coverage, don't get me started!

Don't understand "Apple sort their spat out with Netflix and the BBC".

I watch Netflix and iPlayer through Apple TV.4K, as some Netflix programmes  include Dolby Vision, and the UHD quality, now available on  some BBC programmes, is good, although iPlayer could do with a Woke content trigger alert 😇

Streamed content from ITVX, C4, C5 etc is ad free using SS puck.

Indeed. I have been an Apple user since the Apple II 1978 🙀

iPlayer on tvOS doesn't support UHD or subtitles due to not supporting DVB-DASH (which is what the BBC use).  Netflix doesn't show on the now/next on the homepage.

UHD on Q still had to be streamed though, although the quality of HDR on Stream is much better. 😎
