Getting asked to upgrade your pass?

Don't forget to activate your discovery+ account once you've signed up. You won't be able to log in to the app until you've done this, and might see a message asking you to upgrade your pass. Make sure you've followed all the instruction steps on our Subscribe to discovery+ article.

Yes, as far as I know I've done all of this including getting the activation code from the screen and typing into a browser.  'My products' on Sky shows the Discovery app "as long as I have a Sky subscription'.

Can you sign in to your Discovery + on the website below using your Discovery plus details?

Note that your details set up by you will not necessarily be your Sky login but whatever you set during activation.

I have the identical problem and can't seem to get past the annoying Sky robot chat which was no use whatsoever. If you get an answer, please share.

It was due to the Discovery plus account being linked to an old defunct email address.  The correct new email address was lodged with Sky so I was trying to use that.

If you are using the Safari browser please make sure that Hide IP Address is not checked in order to see the chat bubble. If you are having trouble finding this to check the settings, use another browser such as Firefox, Chrome etc.

I managed to get  it to work after 2 attempts.  The instructions imply that after creating an account, signing into Discovery+ and linking you account it should work.  It doesn't.  I wasn't all set.

 

As mentioned on the first page I had to go to the My Sky settings, Your products,  App subscriptions, current  and activate the discovery+ subscription, then do the registration again.

Should I be able to stream the Olympics for free with discovery plus? It's asking me to upgrade my pass and pay £6.99 a month.

Hi @jaelle 

If you have subscribed through Sky and correctly activated the Free Discovery plus then yes you can watch all the Olympics.

I went to the app and set up the account there. That's probably what my problem is.
