Indeed. You'd think that with Sky Stream hosting apps externally on a server, glitches could be fixed remotely with minimal or no user interaction. It would seem not. It's odd that every app had to be completely reset so perhaps an entire server went down? But why take so long to rectify?
A company of Sky/Comcast's size, operating in the industry it does, should have multiple server backup options which could be switched over in a matter of minutes. Very strange.
Worth pointing out that not every customer who was affected had to do a reset, I just opened discovery plus and had to re-login and it worked without the factory reset.

You were perhaps hosted on a different server which didn't fail and were just required to login again after an app update.

@TC171 I can confirm this works, I have just factory reset my puck and discovery plus is working again.

@Jones_The_Cat and @AndreaMarie In this instance the issue was not Sky's fault and had nothing to do with the Sky Servers. As per earlier posts (268 in particular) the fault was at the Discovery end.
Presumably once Discovery had resolved the issue a reboot was necessary, for many people, in order for the fix to take effect. Some posters say they just had to sign back into Discovery. The main thing is those that were experiencing the issue are now back up and running

@Fothergill1 And my original point remains, we knew to reboot because of this forum but for the ones who aren't on it, I've seen no information anywhere else on the reboot.

Discovery plus error 400
I am unable to get Discovery plus it is part of my subscription package l can receive all my other programs. A message Error 400 appears i have followed all the steps on the help page but nothing works its comes back black screen with message or for about 30 seconds discovery plus header page then error message

you have a valid point, if you didn't have this forum, you'd be one of 100's ringing customer services and getting a variety of answers, none of which would have worked in this situation. Someone on the thread got offered a new Hand set!
whateverthe issue, I now make this my 1st port of call, it's rare that you have a problem unique to you, there are always others and you learn a lot.
I think Sky relies on this as it's communication tool, but it should be better and more proactive on issues.

Do they need to put a message on the Discovery start page? Do we know whether people who haven't used D+ recently are liable to have this problem?

Tried all of the above discovery plus still not working on my sky glass TV but works on the puck on my Samsung TV in the other room with no issue so seems to be a sky glass TV issue I would assume.

This is a new sky glass TV so I would have thought it should all be working. What's the fix for this issue.
