I constantly forget the last thing I watched is available by just pressing left on the home screen top rail.
If there was a slightly indented thumbnail it would be much clearer you can go left on that rail.
It's the only rail that you can go left on, and I bet many people don't even know.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI use the home rail, left mostly, all the time, every day.
Have no issues with how it works.
Seems totally logical where it lands on hitting the Home key and panning left.
Not sure I would want it changed.

This is where customisation of the UI would be beneficial. I don't think that's going to happen though.

Subscribers (including me) were saying the same thing when Sky Q was released about 8 years ago and there is still no customisation. If it was I would get rid of the majority of the rails 😀

Why is it logical? No other rail has anything to the left.

Logical in the sense that right is typically used to go forward (i.e on the EPG), so going left in theory would be like going back in time and thus being able to see the last few channels/apps you have used. So I can certainly see why its designed that way although i do agree Sky should make it clearer for new customers that you can go back by pressing the left button.
I've found i had to experiment with things when i first moved to Sky Stream to fully understand all of its features ( and i've certainly learnt additional tips and feature from this forum). Whilst Sky do have the introduction videos to features at the bottom of the homepage, they seem very high level dont necessary cover all feature and don't seem to get updated as new features get rolled out.

I had been on the streaming platform for over a year before I discovered that a long press on a specific programme on the TV guide rail took you to that programmes home page instead of playing the programme.

I only recently learnt that by reading a post of this forum too 😄.

Could someone pin a thread of tips like that to the top of this board?

Were you not on Sky Q, before Sky Stream?
That same action was on Sky Q for all the eight years I had it.

I went straight from Sky + HD to Stream. Working in tech i'm completely fine with big changes of products and services but i can certainly see people who haven't used Sky Q and jumping straight into the Sky Streaming platform not finding a lot of these features and getting the full experience.

I noticed today that the change to make the previously viewed show more obvious IS actually now available on the top rail. Not sure when they snuck in this change, and it's only obvious if you have a 'bright' screen.
See below, Disney + is barely visible, but the PGA golf is clear for all to see.
Nice.
