Considering Getting Sky Stream Future Price Rises

Thinking of getting Sky Stream with Sky Essential TV Plus Sky Sports.

Normally it would be at least 2 price rises over the course of 24 months. Impossible to say by how much, anything from £1-£4pm extra I'd guess.

In the UK the providers are required by Ofcom to either quote a figure at the start of the minimum contract term for the mid-point increase or give subscribers the option to leave once notified at the end of the first year: Sky has chosen the latter option.

In addition to the above, price rises are done on individual packs, so some pack may increase every year in April, other packs may not increases and the increases will vary based on each individual pack.

Depending on what sort of features you need, you may be better off getting a NOW TV subscription. You can get 12 month Sky Sports, contracts for around £20pm. Ultra Boost (which gives UHD/Atmos/Multiscreen) can be had for between £2-£6pm on top of that too. There are no price rises during those contracts.

It's not only the yearly price rises to be aware of, it's also any discounts you may have coming to an end. I had Stream for two years, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was the above that done it for me. I'm now with Now which suits me better. You pays your money etc etc...

The cancellation due to annual increase clause only apples at the moment to Satelite tv like Sky Q. Unfortunately at the moment is dose not apply to sky steam or Glass as these are streaming service and not covered by the ofcom ruling
