Cancelling sky stream trial

I recently took the 1 month free trial of sky stream which is coming to an end now. I received an email to cancel in the next 7 days if I don't want to continue however when I called to cancel, I was told it was a 30 day notice and my services will end on 2nd April. Does that mean I will be charged for next month? I asked if I will be charged and they said there won't be a charge but still doubtful whether the next month will still come under free trial? Is there any way I can confirm before getting an unexpected bill next month?

Thanks

You'll need to ring them again and confirm the terms of the free trial.

If they have emailed you and said you need to cancel within the next 7 days to avoid any charges then there should be no charges. The service end date is most likely what it would be if you were a regular monthly subscriber who does have to give 31 days notice to cancel.

Hopefully it's not a cheeky way of Sky getting a month's subscription cost out of unsuspecting customers who took up the trial...

@Anonymous

My experience with a free trial was as such

Ordered on 9th February  and cancelled on 8th March I paid no subscriptions, however I am billed £0.00 each month which prevents me from upgrading any packages on the unit because its in my Sky app says I have an active subscription ,also because I ordered before 23rd February it is shown as customer owned

Hope it helps

Re: Cancelling sky stream trial

For me it was pretty easy to cancel by phone. I think it depends on what time you call, early morning and early evening is usually the busiest time so you have to be perisistent at those times.

I did receive two months free in the end. When I called to cancel at the end of the first free month, they said it was a 31 days notice so would be cancelled at the end of next month but my future bills showed 0 and I wasn't charged anything. That did prevent me getting another service from sky during that time as it was considering me as an existing customer.

Re: Cancelling sky stream trial

I find myself in this position. They called me today to ask how I liked it. I said I wanted to disco ti ue after trial ended and was transferred to customer service. I was so glad as using the app was just I furnishing.. going round in circles, pages not loading etc, emailing sky was the same..they just sent me links which went back to the app where the chat bot was un helpful. So, great, im now speaking to a person, I will be sorted at last I thought. I thought wrong. I'm on a 30day trial and was told Iust give 31days notice?! I explained this and the poor girl was so sorry, she said I would have to cancel with immediate effect. I didnt want that so it looks like I have to call them back when the trial ends.

I hope this helps you.  Good luck.

Select ‘Need more help’ at the bottom of the following link which will lead to contact details.

If you cancel correctly you should receive a confirmation email from Sky.

Sky should contact you with information to return the equipment. It's worth retaining the proof of return (tracking number) for a couple of months as the third party who process the returns for Sky can be a bit useless at times and not inform Sky that equipment has been returned.
