Can’t activate sky stream puck

I recieved my sky stream puck 2 days ago and activated it okay using the email address I thought was registered to my account.  All was working completely fine. 
my broadband was activated today and when I switched it over it wouldn't work. I contacted cs on the phone and after 2 hours with 8 resets and linking my sky id to my preferred email address. It still isn't working. 
They said this will be escalated and to wait. 
from what I can figure out because I linked the puck to the old account (which did have a puck linked to it but was sent back as found cheaper deal, sky wouldn't match it so made us send everything back) it won't let me activate it. 
when I do a factory reset along with holding the button on the bottom and following the steps, every time I get it the activation/link account screen and I follow the instructions. It's comes up with a message saying this page is restricted. 
on the account I cannot see an order for a puck even thought I have been sent one but I cannot see that sky streaming has been activated and I can use this on my phone via sky go

i feel like I have exhausted every avenue possible but have no real answers or ideas on how to solve this. 
sky also will only send me a replacement puck if I pay a 50e fee for it, which is madness!

Try the following

 

  1. Go to sky.com/signin.
  2. Enter the email address you used when you ordered Sky Glass or Sky Stream.
  3. Enter your password. Or create a new password if this is your first time signing in.
  4. If you’re asked to “Link your Sky accounts”, enter your:
    • Postcode/Eircode – the one you gave when you ordered; and
    • Payment method details – the one you use to pay for your Streaming TV bill.

You should now see your Streaming TV account

 

5. Go to sky.com/activate.
6. Enter the 6-digit code that's showing on your TV.

When I try to link the original email address it tells me that I cannot complete my order online and to call them

you have to login into the activation page on the web with the email address you used to order your current puck

I managed to link the original email used to order with the sky stream and broadband account number. Still no joy. When I put the activation code in, logged into the correct email. The screen doesn't change. 
at the stage I am going to give up and ask sky for a replacement puck tomorrow. There doesn't seem to be any other way than a new one that is directly linked to my account
