Can I Add Both HD and UHD Versions to My Playlist?
Hi all,
We have a UHD HDR projector in the living room, and an HD-only TV in the bedroom.
Sometimes, I want to watch the same programme in either room, depending on the situation.
The problem is: I can’t add both the HD and UHD versions of a show to my playlist. It’s either one or the other. This means I have to choose between recording everything in HD, or only being able to watch in the living room (not always possible).
Is there any way to add both HD and UHD versions to the playlist - similar to how you could set both to record on Sky Q? Seems stupid if not.
Example: F1 races - if I miss the live UHD broadcast and it’s not immediately available on demand, I can’t switch to a recorded HD version. The only option then is waiting for a replay or watching highlights.
Any advice or workarounds?
Thanks,

@edcrew Have you tried watching an UHD cloud recording on your HD TV? I occasionally watch F1 on my 1080p monitor in the office and the UHD versions seem to work for me, I think they're downscaled back to HD.

@Anonymous
Yes, I've tried watching on the HD TV and it says "This channel is unavailable", that's why I need to record both HD & UHD simultaneously.

If I add something to my playlist downstairs on the big telly and it's UHD, I get the HD version on the bedroom telly.. But I usually add from a voice search rather than EPG.

That's probably because that tv in the bedroom is an hd only one and probably your sky is not connected to your projector and so will not show it in uhd through it, try having a look on Google or YouTube to see if there are any fixes for this that may help you

If the film program is in both HD and uhd then it will automatically detect what you are watching it on if it is hd only or a 4k uhd tv

Re: Can I Add Both HD and UHD Versions to My Playlist?
I have UHD subscription and two sky stream boxes.
I haven't yet tried adding to a playlist by voice, but will try this soon.
It is not automatically switching to the resolution of my TV/projector. If I record in UHD it shows an error message when I try to watch on my HD TV, yet works fine on my UHD projector. If I record in HD I can watch on both, but lose quality on my projector - quality loss is very evident on a 108" screen.
