Black screen after adverts

It happened to me this afternoon and it is so annoying. I have had it with some other programme I watched on sky.

Have you found how to get it to play the video after the first advert?

Not heard anything further from Sky since I reported it.

Same here. Sky one. Programme begins no problem. Adverts come up, ad skip, rest of programme audio but no picture but adverts are OK.

Tried reboot, power out reboot. Update. Nothings works. Tried Sky Chat. But lets not go there.

Exactly the same. It seems to be a common issue that SKY need to resolve.

This has just happened to me again on Motorway Patrol S23:E7 after the adverts at 15 minutes, would be interesting to know if it's the same for everyone else too?

I've emailed Sky about this one too but don't hold out much hope of a resolution, I feel like I'm paying for the privy of being a tester for Sky Stream and I don't like it!

Since posting I have had a response from my email saying that they are aware of the problem and hope for a solution soon. 

As of last night I have still not been able to watch the episode.

Last time I encountered this problem, there was a repeat of the episode the next day. After that aired I noticed that the cached episode had been replsced with a recording of the repeat, with its surrounding bits ident, sponsorship and recorded adverts. Hence it solved that problem. 

For the episode of Best Medicine that this thread relates to, there is a repeat on Sunday at 4pm. Maybe the same cure will happen. For safety we could all just watch the episode as it is broadcast.

We have the same problem with best medicine, it is a bit rubbish, this has happened a couple of times#

A workaround that is that you can watch it on Sky Go and it plays fine, you shouldn't have to do this of course but at least you can catch up

Having same issues, now with watching Stargate SG1. First advert then black screen.

This really needs to be sorted.

It is not even funny how Josh Charles' line is "Just doesn't make any sense" when the black screen appears and we are all thinking the same thing.

Sky is not a cheap package to have and to have faults like this in 2026 is not right for paying customers to be experiencing.

No, it's not been fixed and Sky haven't bothered to respond after their initial email to tell me they were investigating.

THanks for the response.  Do we all need to email the Custoemr Support Team repeatedly until they fix the issue?

My experience of Sky customer service is it's non existent so it can't do any harm for everyone impacted to start emailing them, maybe one of us will get some progress.

I'm catching up now on Best Medicine and it's still not fixed unfortunately 

happens directly after the avert and the first thing you here is Dr Martin "none of this makes any sense"

I've literally done everything (except chucking the puk out the window) reset entirely. Dropped down in quality, watched the adverts I pay not to watch, fast forwarded to the end,  basically I've done everything and not an image in sight just a black box 

off to Sky go... not ideal but I can catch up and hope E11 doesn't do the same thing
