Yes 386, I read that about HDMI handshake too which sounds a plausible theory. As the Beta toggle forces a least a fix until the next puck standby I would have thought it would not be a difficult scenario to engineer during the sign in process but I would have hoped this would have been investigated as a fix. If it's not a widespread issue then neither Sky or BBC will spend much time on it.

This problem has recently begun to reoccurr for me, too, having previously been fixed for several weeks.

I think the previous 'fix' was simply that Sky programmed the iPlayer to always open from scratch every time it's launched, rather than saving state in the background. A 'clean' launch of iPlayer makes UHD content available, which is why toggling Beta mode works as a remedy.

Recently iPlayer has once again started to save state, which is presumably why the UHD bug has come back...

Hi,

The previous thread appears to have been locked, so starting a new one.

Had the UHD logo appearing on thumbnails about 4-5 days ago but now no UHD content at all on my iPlayer app through Stream. Tried toggling the Beta setting on and off and resetting the box but still getting nothing.

The issue has gone away for me since around 10th June. Current release is QS037.058.00P. Anyone else seen the same?

Fixed again for me as well.

Fixed here too. And, for regular HD shows, iPlayer now appears to be delivering 1080p instead of the 720p it was giving before. Result!

Thought I'd seen an improvement! Let's hope they leve it alone for a while now.
