Apps not loading and buffering constantly

Hi

Whenever I try to access the apps on the puck they just sit there, buffering and when they eventually do connect, they are intermittent, constantly stopping, buffering and then going round in the same cycle, which is really frustrating.

I'm on a 1 gig netwrok which is stable and therefore can't understand why this is happening.

Makes me wonder if I made the wrong choice.

Any thoughts, much appreciated.

@Gking1968

I sometimes get the same on my puck and I'm on a 500Mbps fibre connection via ethernet.

It sometimes takes the Channel 4 app about 30 seconds to just open, then another 10 seconds for the stream to start and a few more seconds for it to buffer to full resolution. If I use the Channel 4 app on my TV it takes less than 10 seconds for this whole process.

Some days the apps work fine and others they are really sluggish and have lip sync problems too. I think it's probably got something to do with the whole server-based system that Sky Stream uses. All the apps are stored on Sky's server, not on the pucks, so there's always going to be some added delay with them.

It's a shame really as it does impact on the user experience.
