Apple TV not appearing on continue watching

Whatever I watch on Apple doesn't show on my continue watching rail. I've even tried searching for the program from the sky home page and playing it that way to see if sky would recognise it. Nothing. It's super annoying because I keep forgetting I'm part way through Apple series. Does anyone know a fix? If I can't see it I forget it 😞

Mine was doing that for a few days, resolved today. 
restarted your box?

Hmmm, yes many times as the subtitles stop showing sometimes and unplugging the puck and then plugging it back in is the only way I've found of making them appear again. Thanks for your reply 🙏

Rather than unplugging, try the settings restart.

 

Go to Settings>Systems Management>Resets & Updates
Select Restart device

Your Sky Stream puck will perform a reboot. It will take a few minutes to complete

 

If that still does not resolve your issue, try an apps refresh;

 

  1. Press Home on your Sky remote, then select Settings
  2. Press System management then Resets and updates and finally Refresh apps.
  3. You'll see a message that says, 'Your apps are being refreshed'.
  4. Press Dismiss to return to normal viewing.

The apps refresh can take up to 24 hours to complete.

Thanks for your reply mate. I've reset and refreshed apps. I know you said wait 24hrs, but I don't believe that will fix it. I've tried refreshing the apps before. This is so frustrating! Would it matter that the apple account is registered to my Dad's Apple phone? Does the apple account need to be registered to me?

I'm in a shared Apple account with my own Apple login. It's not signed in in a different name. I would not think it would matter?

No, that would make no difference for the Apple TV+ app on the Puck, so keep using that account will be fine.

 

The up to 24 hours mention, is not really specific to just Sky boxes.

It is often mentioned with other platforms, when doing an app type refresh.

Its basically mentioned around some back end processes as well as your device/account syncing the changes and the cache being cleared.

Did you ever resolve this?


Ive been having the same issue for about a month now, tried all of the above and nothing seems to get it tracking my Apple TV+ programmes.

Is the apple account associated with the same email address as your Sky account? I was using my dad's, I've since got my own Apple TV account associated with the same email address and all Apple TV programs I watch appear on my continue watching rail now 👍

Yes, email address is the same for both account

It doesn't look hopeful I'm afraid, that's all I can suggest. Sky were no help before I made that simple fix myself, they didn't even ask if the Apple account was in my name - which I woulda thought is kinda important. She just found a help article on the sky.com Q&A and went through the steps, when that didn't work she admitted defeat and said "sometimes there is a problem linking sky to your apple account, speak to them." Unfortunately all I can suggest hasn't worked for you, so I'm outta ideas I'm afraid 🤷‍♂️

For anyone that's having the same problem and couldn't find a solution, the following is what worked for me

 

  • Open the AppleTV+ app
  • Select your username from the left menu
  • Go to the "Sharing with Non-Apple Devices" section
  • Ensure "Share Watch History" is set to "On"
