Ads in Playlist programmes already watched

Sky Stream user. Sky put ads to programmes I have already watched fully or partially, when I add the programme to my playlist.

For example, I watch 3/4 of a sports programme on live TV. I add it to my playlist so I can come back to it later. When I do, I can't immediately pick up where I left off—I have to sit through a total 8 minutes of ads just to get to where I had left it.

This behaviour is unacceptable. There has to be a way for Sky to "know" where I got to, and later give me the option to continue watching from where I left off.

I can understand placing ads across the full duration of a programme I have not seen before, but surely this can't apply to something I've already watched?

I think framing them as ads is probably where the frustration stems from.

I think it's more accurate to see the Home Screen as an editorialised view of what an editor is recommending at the moment.

It's less algorithm, more magazine.

I think this is fully by design and is unlikely to change.

Re: Ads in Playlist programmes already watched

But the playlist is not what an editor is recommending me. It's what I am recommending myself 😂 Especially if I'm adding something I have already partially watched. I'm not talking about the Home Screen.

And, they are commercial ads. Of course it's by design—a push to get more customers to buy the Ad Skipping add-on.

What I'm saying is that it's bad UX. There should he a differentiation in the playlist between what someone already has seen and wants to see again (they've already sat through the ad breaks, so maybe minimise/remove the ads), and something they've never seen (which should have ads).

Apologies, I misread the original question.

@DV24   Makes a good point.  This is really an extension of other threads complaining about not being able to go back to where they left off.  Watching tv used to be a reasonably seamless procedure but Stream is anything but seamless, and not just with this problem.
