Ad skipping.

Ad skipping does not work with my puck. The 'skip ad' button rarely appears and the fast forward option stalls. The voice control takes me to some obscure place, without reason. Glad to say I've stopped the free option before I start to pay for nothing. Useless!

Ad skipping (annoylingly) works in different ways with different apps. Only Sky on demand content will offer the 'skip ads' button. ITVX, Channel 4, 5 and U all have slightly different methods of fast forwarding, none of which are 100% reliable without very careful use... and a little bit of luck.

Re: Ad skipping.

Doesn't work on SKY demand at all. Still get ads and the 'skip ads' button rarely appears. I've tried updates and reconnecting my Frank (remote) but with no success. The only option is to stop paying for it. I've had this puck for a couple of months and it's been tetchy from the start. Can't get any help by contacting SKY at all. Not impressed with a two year tetchy contract.

Re: Ad skipping.

The pucks have pretty poor processing capability and multi button presses can confuse the hell out of them. As mentioned above each app has its own variation of FF processing.

For sky on demand content if you press the centre button to pause then the up button to highlight on screen graphics then the right button of the centre wheel you should be able to FF or SKIP OK. Holding down the right button will rapidly take you to the end of what your watching.

Maybe a faff but you soon get used to it and I've noticed more and more that ADS are less or just at the start of Sky content.

If you want total ADS free then NOW is your best option.

Re: Ad skipping.

Silly question, but I'm guessing you're subscribed to Ad Skipping?

Re: Ad skipping.

Partly helpful, especially the advice on the use of the centre button. then up, then right for FF. Unfortunately I rarely get the skip ads button and the FF button is unpredictable on almost anything we watch. Nothing works smoothly with this puck.

Re: Ad skipping.

That's all you can do sadly if it's not for you get out of the contract and look at alternatives. Apple TV is sound super fast and exceptional picture quality.  Subscribing to Now is AD free and UHD I'm currently paying £2.99 a month for entertainment and AD free UHD is free so worth a look
