Ad skip

So.im watching TV and the add skip.option isn't showing. I can fast forward the ads but I cannot skip them. The program is from the sky cloud as it isn't opening an app when playing and has the generic sky play and pause bar. Any idea why this may be.

Thanks

So thats to be expected if it it a "cloud recording", which means its a recorded version of the TV broadcast and thus ads have to be fast forwarded manually. The skip ads button would only be available if its playing back through Sky's on-demand content and not for a cloud recording, as via this mechanim sky essentially inject the ads into the on-demand content therefore the system knows where the ads are placed and how long they will be.

Re: Ad skip

Ok that makes some sense but I don't think I "recorded" them so don't know. It was just something from recommended programs but I'll bare it in mind, it may just be a fluke.

Re: Ad skip

Most apps require fast forwarding through ads.

On some of Sky's own channels and content a "skip ads" button may appear which does what it says on the tin.

All a bit hit and miss when you see it.
