Activate your strreaming apps

I received an infuriating, time-wasting email today with the subject line "...your apps are ready to activate". We have in fact been using several Apps via Sky, all of which were listed in the email as needing "activation". I clicked on the "Activate your apps" link and arrived at an error page. I went onto the Sky website and confirmed that all the supposedly un-activated Apps were working. I telephoned the number on the error page to find out what further we are supposed to do, but was told that everything was active on our account.

What was the point of the email?

Likely an IT glitch. An automated email sent out that can just be ignored.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

I had the same email and have ignored it.

Re: Activate your strreaming apps

I've had the same email today and thought it suspicious. I too have used all apps recently and wondered if it was a scam phishing email.

Not wanting to click on the activation button, I've forwarded it to Sky reporting it as a scam.

We'll see what they do in the meantime.

Re: Activate your strreaming apps

Yep same here. Knowing my apps are activated I assumed a glitch email from Sky. Seeing lots have had this it's pretty poor show from Sky. They should have sent email once realising the error to apologise for glitch and to ignore it.
