i have rented a movie but does not show up on my sky q box

What device did you rent it on. Due to digital rights i believe you can only watch it on the device you rented it on

Its more to do with the film studio than Sky or indeed any broadcaster.

Rentals are only available on the device you purchase on
Buy and Keep purchases can be viewed on any registered device.

Rented films that are rented via the Sky Store app or website can only be viewed online.

Depending on what devices you own, there are a few ways to work around this
If you have a Chromecast you can usually cast to your TV. Same with a recent Sony or JVC TV with built in Chromecast
If you have a recent LG TV you can download the Skystore app on there
If you have a PC or laptop with an HDMI output you can plug that in to your TV by HDMI and that should work providing your device copes with the HDCP protection
I know it's messy but these are some options
Other than that - you should rent from your Sky box if you want to view from your box.
