Why can I not see my Asda rental

I have used my voucher to rent a film but can not find it on the tv

Rentals purchased online or via the sky store app can only be viewed on these devices as it isn't possible to watch them via your Sky box I'm afraid. You only hope is if you have a LG TV that has the Sky Store app built into it or if you have Chromecast where you can cast the film to your TV.

I just came here for this very reason.

So we can't watch our Sky Store rentals on our our Sky device that we use to access all Sky's other content? 

Instead, we have to watch the movie we got from an Asda, evening pizza, movie and drink night promotion, huddled around our phones?

Someone make it make sense.

Sadly that is correct as rental films can not be sent to your Sky box. Your only hope is if you have a LG TV or use Chromecast.

Doesn't the Sky box itself use Chromecast? I can cast Youtube videos from my phone to Sky Q. Is there any way to make that work?

It just seems silly to me that they're pushing this Sky promotion where you can cosy up and get movie-night pizzas plus a drink, but Sky customers can't actually watch their Sky movie on their Sky!

I imagine it's probably not what Asda imagined. In any case, it's still worth it for the cheap pizzas, which with a litre of Sprite thrown in for £6 is a bargain.

IMO, Asda's (our one anyway) pizzas are the best made-to-order ones by a mile just for the sheer volume of mozarella you get - so I guess we can thank Sky for that.

I'm a bit confused if you say you can cast YouTube videos to your Sky Q box. **(Ignore this - @Outertrial is right and I'm wrong ) 

my guess is that you are casting to your TV directly. The same applies that you can cast (with chromecast) some rentals (not premiere rentals) and buy and keep directly to your TV

there are all sorts of odd licencing issues to do with Skystore purchases which restrict the devices you can use - typically though -you can watch rentals on tablets / phones / PC / Mac- then also on LG Tv With the built in Skystore app- and Chromecast/ Roku

The Sky box doesn't use Chromecast so if you have this then you are casting to your TV and not your Sky Q box so the good news is you can cast normal (not premier) rentals to your TV via the Sky Store website or app.
