Subtitles onSky Store

As you have found a Skystore movie which is advertised with subtitles, but does not have them - my suggestion would be that you send an email to Sky at 

ViewerR@sky.uk

to let them know

I wish I could ,have been on phone so many times,to customer care,sky complaint,no help whatsoever,they are just happy to keep us locked in a contract and take the money... my wife's deaf to they don't care and I am a vip,means nothing...managed to get out of broadband contract as they have not put in yet...going to try Bt for broadband ...

and was it a rental or a "buy and keep" purchase ?

Simulant.....indicated it had subtitles before we bought it,but when downloaded , no subtitles..I have been on phone half a dozen times,sky not interested in a deaf customer...

(and I'm sure you will be aware,but) you do know that even if a movie has the option for subtitles, you have to switch subtitles to ON in your Sky settings ?

and @Alanbottles  (and I'm agreeing with you here) you are saying this photo suggests there are Subtitles  available on the buy and keep version - and you are saying there are not

I'm just a customer same as you but I do also have access to a different part of the forum - so will ask around to see if I can find out what is going on with the circumstances you have described.

Yeap They really are false advertising,if I had known this for my wife who is profoundly deaf as our daily viewing style is slowly changing so we watch a lot of films with subtitles now.if I had known this I would not be with sky..prime and Netflix so superior on this and so more caring and understanding when you contact there customer care...

Just an update. I've had a message back from a Sky employee on a different part of the forum. 

They are trying to get clarification of what is going on with the Simulant download. 

If I get any sort of answer I'll let you know. 

May I ask, is this a one off ( with Simulant ) or have you experienced this before with Sky. A movie advertised with subtitles but then they are not there ?

Thanks for reply...the film Was the free one given for all the hassle we had on the 15th May.. 

My wife is profoundly deaf so our sub titles are on all the time...this film was labeled it had sub titles,but once downloaded was useless for my wife.i have since found out that sky store films if you download and buy them do not have subtitles even though shown as should be,sky tech apparently don't have the tech to do this yet..but still they are false advertising by selling you a contract knowing there sky store does not work for the deaf community...I will be taking it further to rip off Britain or good morning,as they are ripping off all the deaf community depending on this,as people are now changing there viewing criteria..no where in there whole sky contract does it inform you of sky store not working properly...just greed ,as people buy films from sky store,then get ripped off ..

Subtitled movies have been a regular source of discussion on the forum for at least the last 10 years. 

In 2023 a list of subtitled movies was released but I don't know how up to date it is (see the link)

I do know for certain that some buy and keep movies do have subtitles. This is one of mine - Contact (the Jodie Foster movie)

so subtitles do exist on Sky store

I was looking at Streets of Fire, 80s film proper nostalgia but can never watch it as no subtitles. The lack of support for the deaf community is staggering with Sky.
