Sky store on sky glass

Anyone else getting annoyed with sky store on sky glass. We have 4 televisions at home and because you are only aloud 4 devices the kids now can't watch any movies in there iPads. It seem yet again sky have thought this one through.
There must be something someone at sky can do to get this issue ironed out.

Hi @Yorkshireboy82

Sky Store has always had these limits with regards to devices.

Re: Sky store on sky glass

I totally understand that Tim but surely if customers pay for a product then they should be able to watch it on any device that they have, my point is to bring this to to skys attention and hopefully reslove the issue so sky galss customers can watch it lets say 6- 8 devices.

We are paying a premium and not getting the full service in my opinion.

Do you not agree ???

@Yorkshireboy82 @Tim+Adams

It's a good point: given that the Store app is effectively mandatory for consumption of content purchased from Sky on Glass/Stream then that hardware really shouldn't count towards the registered device total.

@TimmyBGood I don't see my Glass / Stream as registered devices so assumed they weren't counted just like Sky+ & Sky Q devices (although no app on them)

Tim

@Tim+Adams

I'd hope they aren't counted, but I've never used the Store app on any of mine (or indeed anywhere else)

Hi @Yorkshireboy82

Just to clarify, you've only got one Glass and no Stream pucks?

The other TV's have the Sky Store app and you also use iPads etc?

Thanks,

Tim

Re: Sky store on sky glass

Do Glas and Stream devices use the Sky Store app to access Sky Store?

Re: Sky store on sky glass

Yes you have to log into the app on the Glass TV and each of the pucks in your house, so instead of them combining it all for every puck / Glass TV you use that is classed as a device, its bonkers

Re: Sky store on sky glass

If you have Sky Glass and Sky Stream Pucks

Sky Glass is counted as 1 device but the Sky Stream Pucks are not counted towards your device limit

In regards to the Sky Stream Pucks

These are devices on your contract which also support Sky Store and don't count towards your limit

The Sky Stream Pucks will have a device name as account holder first name + Safari

Example my sky stream pucks  are listed as Paul's Safari

Login into Sky Store Account using a web browser

https://www.skystore.com/

Click My account

Click Devices

You will see the details of devices that are part of your device limit and list of devices not counted as towards your limit

With mine if have 3 devices that are counted as toward my limit

4 is blank as in I can add another device not used yet

1 Windows PC

2 Samsung Mobile

3 Sky Glass (When first added will be listed as your first name + safari) I renamed it to Sky Glass

4 is free as no device added

Below this you will also see devices not counted towards your limit

Devices on your contract which also support Sky Store and don't count towards your limit.

I have 3 devices listed all are Sky Stream Pucks listed as Paul's Safari followed by (#)

Remove option is greyed out as these are not devices counted towards your limit

You can give each device a different name if you want by clicking rename

If you do a factory reset of a Sky Glass it will add as a new device

If you do a factory reset of Sky Stream Pucks  it will add as a new device but will be listed in section not counted towards your limit

You need to use a Web Browser to login Sky Store My Account to see all the info of devices listed as in what is counted towards your limit and what is not counted

If you just use Sky Store App on Sky Glass or Sky Stream Puck and click my account you will only see devices listed that count towards your limit

1000 Mbps download and 200 Mbps upload speed
I only use wired ethernet with Sky Glass and Sky Stream Pucks

Hi @Paul+Boland

Thanks for replying, that's interesting because I'm getting the opposite to yourself. The Streams are getting counted as a device and there's no section about devices not counted.

1 is Glass & 2 is a Stream

Could you post a screenshot of the device section please?

Thanks,

Tim
