SKY VIP GIFT - FREE MOVIE

I've succesfully ordered this free movie from the Sky store using a desktop pc. I requested the movie be sent to my Sky Q box, and confirmation was given on screen, however when I look for it in my sky store on the TV, I cant see the purchase ( Top Gun Maverick ) ? Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong please (  Sky Q box is listed as a compatible device as a way to watch the movie ) ?

On your Sky Q box- don't look in the Skystore part of the menu - have you looked in your menu under Recordings / purchases ? Should be there

Is your online Sky Store account linked to your Sky Q box ?

 

  • Sign in at skystore.com/myaccount and go to 'My Sky TV'.
  • Click on 'Link My Account'.
  • Follow the instructions on the screen. You'll need your 12 digit Sky Account number or the account number of the bank you use to pay your Sky bill.
  • Click 'confirm'

If you log on to Skystore on a mobile device (say a phone or tablet) do you see the movie there and will it allow you to "send to box" from there ? That's worth a try 

 

if not then try a livechat (opens at 11am) to the Skystore team and see if they can fix it

Hi ,

 Have you looked in the recordings section under purchases?  If it's not there then perhaps it hasn't sent and maybe you need to try sending again. 
I hope that's of some help.

Cant see 'My Sky TV'. on desktop ? Or am I looking on sty tv itself ?

  • Click on 'Link My Account'.

yes sent it from mobile device,  but stillcant see the movie on sky tv

I dont see a 'Link My Account' ?  but it does say " View my Sky account"  on right side ?

When I " view my account"  on a different web page,  there's nothing on that page that says " link my account " ?

Not much consolation I know @Oldbexleyboy but a tactic I have used successfully before - if you are free tomorrow- is to log on at 10.55 am to get in the queue early.

Finally got connected by  online live chattoday .  I'm told by sky store, that my sky store account has somehow not been created correctly, so wont link to my sky box. I had to purchase the film from sky tv store, and then get reimbursed on my billing account. Apparently I will need to recreate the sky store account with a different email address ( and I assume link it to my sky tv account ? )  if I want to redeem free  VIP movie gifts and watch on sky tv in the future.
