SKY STORE RIPOFF!

Had Now TV and a three mobile connection for over 2 years,i have over 100 movies on Sky Store which i have purchased and watched...last week bought 6 movies in the Halloween sale and cant watch them!....live chat told me that as my internet is not "secure" i cant use Sky store app anymore,although it was secure enough to take my money and give nothing in return!,absolutely disgusting service,told its non-refundable either..in my eyes this is theft and i would advise anyone not to part with any money as it looks like they can block your access to Sky store any time they feel like it....

Hi @BOOTS1 

 

I may be missing something- but I do quite a lot with Skystore and this isn't something I've heard of before. 

Some of us on the forum are able to escalate posts directly to Sky. I'll try to do so with yours as it doesn't seem right to me.  

Keep your eyes out on the forum and look out for a speech bubble they may send you at the bottom of the page with an option to open a chat window. 

Edit ; I've noticed you are on NOW TV rather than Sky so it may be that they refer you to a different team - but will hopefully offer support

Ive spoken to a Sky "expert" and sky chat twice in the last 3 days,still have 152 movies i cant watch!....

When they say "unsecure" @BOOTS1 

is that because you are using mobile data ?

 

When I get home -  I'll read through the terms and  conditions for Skystore / Now TV and see if I can see anything (sad hobby I know )

I've read through the terms best I can @BOOTS1 and it does refer to broadband rather than mobile data. 

Is "mobile data" the reason they gave you for refusing ?

 

if so - and if you remain unhappy you have the option to complain to Sky or to a regulator - but you might need to locate a flaw in the terms and conditions first.

My internet is provided by three mobile broadband as it has been for the last 2 and a half years,it's a sim in a router,best way i can describe it,suits me as i dont want a landline or the costs of it..anyway...have been buying and watching my Sky Store movies all this time with no problem,so for them to suddenly say "its because its an unsecure connection" is a poor excuse and as i said previously it wasn't "unsecure" enough for them not to take over £50 from me over halloween to buy more films,which i can't watch!...to take more money and let me buy more films when they know its an "unsecure" connection and i wont be able to access them strikes me as theft!

I am usually a supporter of Sky but I must say that in my opinion - this doesn't sound right

When you try to view a movie - do you get an error message ? 

what is preventing you viewing the purchased movies ? 

Also - is your account a "Skystore" account that you log in to using the Skystore app ?

I get an error code 1101, i have a Sky ID and an email address from when i used to have Sky years ago,had to change to mobile broadband when i moved due to landlord/apartment complex rules....

If you haven't had Sky for years then that ID would have been closed which might explain the error. 

 

One thing that isn't clear for me, you mentioned NowTV in your opening post were you a customer of theirs when you ordered these films from the Sky Store ?

Still sign in with that i.d as i have done for 2 and a bit years,i got now tv 2 years ago also and already had some films from when i had sky,these were imported to my now tv and then continued to buy and watch  until last week when the problem began....

So what happens if you sign in with your NowTV account details and not the Sky ID ?

I have a sky store button on my now tv remote,when i press it, it automatically signs me in with my sky i.d...

i can then see the home screen,go to my library,see all my movies but when i click on any of them just get the loading blue circle for ages then goes to the 1101 error...
