Rented movies can only be viewed online (if you rented online )
If you want to view on (say) a Sky Q box you have to do the rental on your Sky Q box.
If you have a recent LG TV you should be able to view a rental on the Sky store app held on the TV
It does say all this in their Ts and Cs but if you feel misled you could try to livechat the Skystore team from 11am tomorrow
