Re: sky stream
@micky14 You can swap now if you want to as you don't have to wait until the end of your Q minimum term
give sky a call and they will gladly facilitate your transfer penalty free as you wouldn't be leaving sky

It would be a new contract. So it would very much depend on the level of discount you currently have on Sky Q and your negotiating skills when discussing the Sky Stream contract. In your favour is the fact that Sky very much want customers to move to Sky Stream.

Re: sky stream
@micky14 In addition, hopefully you'll research Sky Stream before switching. It's very different to Sky Q and the available channels aren't identical.

Re: sky stream
I have been known to cancel and send my box back if they don't agree ,only for sky to keep ringing me and eventually doing a deal

Re: sky stream
For the love of God, don't. Going to sky stream is the worst decision I've ever made.

Re: sky stream
Sky stream is great if:
1. You don't mind constant freezing, waiting for menus etc to load
2. Sound out of sync
3. Much reduced range of channels
4. No recording per se, everything is just catch up on demand
5. Puck liable to damage your TV (our puck just cost us a brand new TV)
6. Pain the **bleep** menu and remote control to operate

3. Much reduced range of channels A handful of channels on Satellite are not on stream all Sky Sports channels are.
4. No recording per se, everything is just catch up on demand Sky content is cloud recorded and is accessible via a playlist.
5. Puck liable to damage your TV (our puck just cost us a brand new TV) Both misleading and unproven.
6. Pain the **bleep** menu and remote control to operate Again not everyone experiences such issues.
@micky14 To balance out you only see mainly negative posts within the community very rarely do people post saying they are happy.
I've had stream since day 1 other than some early teething issues (Sky Q also had issues when 1st released) it works flawlessly for many 100s of customers.
Stream needs Strong reliable WiFi, speed alone isn't a going to be a given.
You do have a 30 day cool off period if it's not for you you should be able to revert to Sky Q.
That being said satellite delivered TV in the UK & Ireland is reaching the end of live in the next 4 years.

Ok thanks ,think I will stick with my sky q box for few more years .
The box before I had years ago worked fine in my other room ,the sky multi screen ,is this completely different?

A Q Multiscreen (Mini) box is a completely different platform to a Stream puck, and the previous Sky+ Multiroom is different again.

If you only want sky sports and the news Chanel it might be better to get now tv it will be a lot cheaper as in reality you would only need to subscribe to sky sports as Sky news is free. Unlike sky stream where you have to pay for a entertainment package that you don't want yes you have to add. ad on called a boost to get HD quality but like stream it also includes the equivalent on of multiroom and lets you watch on up 3 extre devices. It gives you ad free on demand programming . You also if you go for the slightly higher price boost you will also get UHD quality when available that on cost £10 a month. Unlike steam you are not hold to long term just month by month cancel any time without notice. Unlike sky steam which relies on very god broadband speed to work properly now will work on far less stringent broadband system,
