sky q that doesnt need a dish

Don't go there!  It is a complete nightmare.  I jumped ship from Virgin a few years ago and got a Sky Stream.  It is brilliant for live TV and Catch up (although the apps can be a bit glitchy sometimes...but where it completely misses the point is its inability to maintain a decent "Programme Link" feature like we used to have on the VIrgin Box.  For example You set up a series to watch.  It supposedly keeps this on its "watchList", but then when a new series comes out it frequently doesn't bother to tell you a new series has started!  As for programmes which do not go to catch up (for example, the Tour de France Live (on HBO Max), and highlights (on channel 5) both don't let you "catch-up", only watch live.  Sky have "retired" the Q, without having a credible alternative!

You've added to a two year old thread.

Sky Q is still available to order at the present time but only by calling Sky and it's lifespan is another 3+ years.

In the absence of SES commissioning, building and launching at least one replacement satellite for the Astra 28.2E cluster the end of satellite television broadcasting to the UK & ROI is inevitable: gravity always wins.
