Re: picture and sound drop-outs

looks like there was a problem with your USB stick or file - mine took about 15/20  mins from memory and the percentage increased regularly

Re: picture and sound drop-outs

I only had a 32gb usb but I did a partition to reduce the size. I will try with a smaller USB

Re: picture and sound drop-outs

I am not prepared to take the risk that the USB file screws up the TV - Philips would be off the hook. I have now connected yed a Philips 43 UHD LED TV to the Q box and it is flawless. So the fault is clearly with the OLED 908 and Philips will need to get weaving g to sort this out. Customer support tells me after 8 days bother will escalate to Technical and I have been promised a call from a manager. Not exactly speedy!!! I shall also ring Richer Sounds as my understanding of UK law is that the retailer is responsible: the damage telly is just over 8 months old. So far RS does not want to know, if necessary Trading Standards or an email to Julian Richer may focus the minds of those who are dragging their feet. We'll see.

Re: picture and sound drop-outs

You aren't alone, I have the same TV and the same issue (65OLED908 with Sky Q)

Just tried a reset of the Sky Box and hasn't solved the issue, changed cable - problem is only with Sky though

Have you read the rest of the thread about an issue with the latest philips firmware?

Re: picture and sound drop-outs

I have indeed, and after turning the house upside down for a USB stick I'm happy to report I'm back up and running without any issues (so far)

Thankyou to all the contributors!

Update was a lot quicker than i expected (15mins max)

Was it the downloaded folder or file you renamed? Mines stays at 1% when I put the usb in

Re: picture and sound drop-outs

Finally got the update to work. Been watching the football and so far so good. Phillips did advise me to change some settings but that made it worse and this update hopefully has fixed it

Re: picture and sound drop-outs

Philips UK have been utterly useless. It took them 9 days to acknowledge that they had to escalate to their technical department,  a promised phone call from a manager never happened. 12 days since notifying them...still nothing. On the other hand, Richer Sounds have been outstanding- which is why I have been a customer for over 40 years.

Well it's an "un-update" really.

What did you do differently to get it to work?

Re: picture and sound drop-outs

can I ask what it is Richer Sounds have done? I have the same fault,  no reply from either Philips or Richer Sounds.

Re: picture and sound drop-outs

Because the TV was still nearly new and Philips UK were of no use whatsoever RS agreed to exchange the TV for a Philips 65 OLED 910 plus extra money. The new telly arrived today and is fantastic, brilliant picture and no dropouts live or from the Q box recorder. The new TV comes with a 6 year warranty: the 2 years from Philips may be worthless if the service response in my case is anything to go by, RS, where I have been buying for 40+ years, have been excellent.

Re: picture and sound drop-outs

Thank you. Can I ask how new is nearly new? I've not had mine for too long.
