new Sky Q box with no power cable

Our Sky Q box broke last night, Sky have delivered a new box today but with no power cable. The port is different to the old box. They have said that they can't just send a cable, an engineer has to come out and fit it. Is this correct? Can I just buy an adaptor?

@LNS

It's possible you've received a v2 main Q box which uses an external transformer and that's missing from the package.

These are available from eBay (part number SP170 or SP171) but it's really something Sky should supply free-of-charge.

It's not possible to 'just buy an adaptor' from a 'figure-8' (IEC C7) plug to the orange round plug because the transformer block is the adaptor.

@LNSas @TimmyBGood says it probably needs the power unit, unfortunately Sky rarely supply parts and will probably need to change the box again.

Probably left in the box by courier, just had to ask ours twice to look in the box for a lead and there it was

Snap

our sky Q box said their was a problem with the hard drive so ordered what I thought was a new box. It's a refurbished one and it came without the power cable and our cable doesn't fit.
Now we have to wait til 20th May 2024 for a engineer to come out.
Never heard anything so stupid so now without TV til then.
Begrudge paying £25 plus for one off EBay when it should really come with it.
Just thought as well that my remote probably won't work either with a replacement box

@CB494 as all the boxes belong to Sky then i would think that now adays all boxes will be refurbished boxes.

The cable would have been in the box the problem is the DPD drivers never check the box  ie under the cardboard for the cable as they just want to swap the boxes over as quickly as possible you did remember to remove the viewing card from your old box ? before giving it to the DPD driver
